Catching a swarm!

In the early spring I was lucky enough to catch a swarm from my own hive. Thousands of bees all converged on my swarm catch and moving in and making it their new home. The queen’s inside, and you can see the whole colony gathering, buzzing, and settling in. It’s one of those sights you never get tired of and now we will be able to expand the apiary to 3 hives. After settling into this swarm catch box for a couple weeks we’ll move them to a permanent hive.
